Our classroom is a peanut-free environment due to life-threatening allergies within the school. Please ensure all food and snacks are nut free. Students are given two snack times per day in addition to a regular lunch period. Please send two healthy snacks and a lunch with your child on a daily basis. Our classroom serves as the Eco-Depot for the Primary Division- reusable containers are highly encouraged! A reusable water bottle is essential and much appreciated.

As part of our “Monsters” classroom theme, each child will be given the opportunity to be my Mon-STAR Student Of The Week. My mon-Star Student is essentially my “right-hand-guy/gal” and completes various jobs (handouts, messenger, prayer and line leader). The Star Student (Étoile de la semaine) is encouraged to bring in one object (ex. a favourite stuffed toy, picture, book, etc.) of their choice to show and share with the class that week. The object will be sent home after your son/daughter presents it to the class. Following their week as the star student, they will be allowed to bring home our mon-STAR stuffy for the weekend. Students are encouraged to write about/draw what they did that weekend with their mon-STAR in their journal which will be sent home with the stuffy. English, French, pictures and drawings are all welcome to help your child express what they did that weekend :)

Les équipes: Each month, students will be grouped in teams of 5 and participate in a variety of classroom challenges. These team groups will be used to help your child get to know all of the students in the class and develop his or her learning skills (responsibility, organization, independent work, collaboration, initiative and self-regulation). Teams will earn points collaboratively, and individual students will be rewarded for exemplary behaviour.
